We all need a home that fits our needs and budget

A safe, healthy, and affordable home is the bedrock of our neighborhoods and our state. Sadly, with some of the highest housing costs and some of the lowest housing building rates in the country, too many Rhode Islanders are left struggling to find an affordable place to live.

With not enough available homes, individuals and families in nearly every city and town in Rhode Island simply cannot find a house or apartment they can afford, while also making ends meet.

Rhode Island must invest in proven policies and funding opportunities to address our housing crisis.

Take Action

Rhode Island must address our housing crisis.

As a state, we are faced with a widening affordability gap, with 165,000 cost-burdened households. No city or town has average-priced two-bedroom apartments for rent that a median income renter can afford. For buyers, very few cities or towns reliably offer affordable homes for sale.
