Who We Are

The Rhode Island Coalition for Ethics Reform is a 501(c)4 nonprofit organization formed in support of the ethics reform referendum (question 2) in the 2016 Rhode Island general election.

The Rhode Island Coalition for Ethics Reform was founded by three Rhode Island organizations known for their commitment to good government: Common Cause Rhode Island, the League of Women Voters of Rhode Island and Operation Clean Government. Question 2 represents the culmination of years of hard work aimed at restoring the power of the Ethics Commission to oversee the General Assembly.

The coalition was launched with funding given by the three founding organizations and support from individual donors. The coalition does not accept donations from corporations, political action committees, unions, trade associations or candidate campaign accounts. The coalition reserves the right to return any contribution.

All donors to the Rhode Island Coalition for Ethics Reform will be disclosed.
